Laura Eisner - Shirley Bogdonoff Aishet Chayil Award

Laura Eisner moved to West Hempstead with her young family almost 16 years ago, and immediately became a member of Congregation Anshei Shalom, drawn in by the warmth and down to earth nature of the Anshei community. Always driven to be involved, Laura worked as chair of the dinner committee for two years, until assuming the presidency of Sisterhood. She served with co-president Dana Stern for six years, helping run programs like the Sukkot and Shavuot bake sales, Trivia Night, and spearheading the publication of an Anshei cookbook.

Laura is the Director of Humanities at HANC High School, and has been teaching history there for 14 years. Devoted to furthering the education and engagement  of Jewish teens and adults, Laura has given various shiurim and lectures for the Anshei Adult Education Committee. She is a past member of the Anshei board where she focused on revamping the teen program for the shul.

Laura is so grateful to be a part of the Anshei family, and wants to express Hakarat Hatov to the institution, as well as its leaders - Rabbi and Rebbetzin Soniker and Rabbi Pearl. Anshei has provided Laura and her family the opportunity to be surrounded by amazing people who are kind, caring, and dedicated to creating a wonderful Jewish community.
