Eric & Dana Stern
Eric & Dr. Dana Stern - Hakarat Hatov Award
Dana and Eric Stern and their children, Kayla, Isaac and Lea, have been members of Anshei for more than 15 years. Dana, an optometrist who works locally for Dr. David Speiser and at other opticals on LI, quickly joined the Sisterhood Board as a Vice-President after joining Anshei. In 2013, she was given the Shirley Bogdonoff Aishes Chayil Woman of Valor Award for her work with Anshei’s Sisterhood and Chesed Team. Soon afterwards, she started an eight-year term as Co-President of Sisterhood, retiring from the position in 2021.
Eric is an attorney and partner at the national law firm of Kaufman Dolowich Voluck, LLP, where he specializes in Insurance Coverage Litigation and serves as the Co-Chair of the Firm’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice. Eric recently completed his two-year term as President of Anshei (2019-2021). Prior to his Presidency, Eric held positions as Board Associate Vice-President, Chair of the Anshei’s Building Fundraising Committee, Co-Chair of the Nominating Committee and as a member of Anshei’s CSS Security Team. Eric is also a long-standing member of Anshei’s Men’s Book Club.
Amongst their contributions to Anshei, it is noteworthy that the Sterns served in their positions of leadership during Covid. They helped make sure that Anshei stayed “open” for its members even when our building had to be closed and that the membership stayed together, connected through our Shul, even when we were forced apart.
Dana and Eric are grateful to HASHEM for placing them in this community, with this amazing Shul, and giving them the ability to serve. They would also like to express their appreciation to the Anshei Board and the Dinner Committee for selecting them for this Honor and wish a hearty Mazel Tov to Rabbi Pearl , Teresa, and Abigail for their well-deserved Honors. Finally, they are incredibly thankful to everyone who contributed to this Dinner on their behalf.
